DEUTA Controls device service

This server is the device service of DEUTA Controls GmbH. DEUTA devices such as the AL-515 EnOcean gateway can send a short status report to this address, if the administrator of the device has switched on „DEUTA telemetry“. It is off by default.

What is transmitted

Device state only: serial number, firmware version, uptime and restart reason, memory, radio and network counters, and certificate expiry warnings. No radio telegrams or sensor IDs, no IP addresses, network names, host names, user names or configuration values. About 1 KB once a day, plus a report after a restart or a fault.

How it works

The device opens an outgoing HTTPS connection (TCP port 443) to devices.deuta-controls.net. Nothing connects to the device from outside, no VPN is set up. Each report is signed with the factory certificate of the device; an HTTP proxy can be configured on the device. The administrator of the device can switch the function off at any time.

For IT departments

Outgoing: TCP 443 to devices.deuta-controls.net. Incoming: nothing. Proxy with basic authentication is supported; for proxies with Windows authentication please exempt the device by its IP address.
